About Eastfield North.

I've always had a soft spot for Eastfield, I don't know why...could it be the Scottie dog or was it
the sight of many large logo'd locomotives in one place? Either way, it left a lasting impression on
me as a teenage train spotter. I planned in those formative years to model the depot in OO, but even
a cursory glance at the size of the depot told me this wasn't going to a realistic.
Life intervened and I drifted away from railways taking on the adult world of work. Now I am in the
happy position of owning my own home and I have purloined one of the small attic rooms and decided to
resurrect the idea of a Scottish layout.

Eastfield North is a fictional location on the line from Glasgow to Edinburgh. The exact location
would be better closer to Bishopsbrigg on the map. It's roll is two fold, initially as an overflow
for fuelling/parking up locomotives from Eastfield itself and secondly, a small freight marshalling
yard for freight that happens to be heading either North or South. There is also a siding which
serves a permanent way 'virtual quarry'.
